New In Stores:

Served up on a Silver Platter!

anthology13banthology13a

The word is out! Yen Press is simply delighted to present to you Black Butler, which will be running monthly in Yen Plus magazine with the first volume release scheduled for January 2010. For those of you not familiar with the story, it’s the tale of Ciel Phantomhive, who, despite his youth, has taken charge of the family business and manor in his father’s stead. Most would find the sudden responsibility crushing, but his loyal butler Sebastian is able to handle any and every situation with poise and grace, whether it be a dinner party or a confrontation with the foulest criminals of London’s underbelly. In fact, he’s almost too good to be true…

Hello, Tania here! I just wanted to drop in and say that, of all the titles I’ve wanted Yen to pick up since I started here (and believe me, there are a TON), Sebastian and company have always been at the top of my list. From its first GFantasy installment, Black Butler has kept me hooked with its mix of period charm, dark undertones, and gorgeous art. I’m especially fond of how this series has one foot firmly planted in English history! And as an Anglophile, working on this series has sent me running for my BBC period dramas, P.G. Wodehouse books, pastry cookbooks, Debrett’s Peerage, and everything in between to make sure our edition of Black Butler is as authentic as possible, right down to the Queen’s English! I hope you’ll enjoy all our efforts on this series as much as we’re all enjoying working on it!

Yay! Butlers! Butlers who make dessert! Handsome butlers who make dessert! And with that, I hope you love Sebby, Ciel, and the rest of the Phantomhive household as they make their shining debut in Yen Plus!

1. THANK YOU SO MUCH! I emailed a few months ago (from my old email, raslly@gmail.com) and suggested this, and I couldn’t believe that you;d get it so soon! Thank you sooooo much guys, I really love you :3

2. clovissangrail Says:

I’ve been wanting to read this series so I am strangely glad. I look forward to seeing it :p

3. AhhH! Kuro in english right in the palm of my hand- I can see it now!! Makes me want to subscribe to the magazine.

Oodles of respect to you for taking on this responsibility, Yen press! Kuroshitsuji is fantastic!

4. Fangirl-San Says:

OH MY GOD YESSSS!!! YES YES YES YES YES YES YES !!!!!!!!!

I FREAKING JUST DIED OF HAPPINESS!!! YOU GUYS MAKE MY DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

KEEP IT UP!!!!!

*******SQUEALS*******

5. Yay! this is what i was hoping for. :D

6. Color Black all around the sides and spine, on side B, on the August issue…that would make me feel happy that I got it? Right after the pink and green mix(july) now Black, and blue, lol.

7. Woo! Maybe now Black Butler will finally be bumped from my Wishlist to my Reading list. :D

8. I, for one, am rather disappointed that the name has been changed to Black Butler!!

As a totaly Kuroshitsuji fan, I found even the sound of the name to be sexy.
D:

To me, it’ll forever be Kuroshitsuji and I think that true fans of it will be turned off by this publication. :c

9. OMG OMG first Pandora Hearts and now Kuroshitsuji omg thank you so much. All my favorites from GFantasy. Thank you Yen. Can’t wait for my copy to come in the mail! ;333

10. Hmmm…Nightschool isn’t on the spine.

11. @MichaelJ Svet’s taking a break this month in between volumes of Nightschool, but she’ll be back in September and has done a full-color page in celebration of our anniversary! Look for it on page 6A!

12. black butler and pandora heart , jack frost and maximum. That cool and funny. I like it. DO YOUR BEST.

13. Kuro, “Black Butler” is a literal translation of “Kuroshitsuji.” And it’s Yen Press’s job to translate things, including titles, if need be. And do I need to mention that they also probably want to avoid getting a bunch of culturally unaware parents upset that their kids are buying comic books which have a particular four-letter word “hidden” in the title?

Just be glad they didn’t rename it “Luminously-Challenged Domestic Servant” or something.

14. shinnigami Says:

Yayyyy!!!!!!!!!! Yen Press is awesome ^.^
First Soul Eater and Nabari, the Pandora hearts and now Kuroshitsuji. All in one magazine. I can not even begin to express my happiness. ^.^

And here I was thiunking that I was going to have to wait the usual two years or so before I got to read the actual transation or these ^.^

@Kuro
Really I am a fan of Kuroshitsuji, but I dont find the change in the title a turn off at all. Yen could have changed the title to “The Demon Butler Who Makes Cheese” and I trully wouldn’t have cared as long as they have a picture of Sebastian right next to that title ^.^. i think fans don’t care about the little details as long as long as we are getting Kurohitsuji, point.

Besides in all fairnewss all yen did was translate the title to english. Kuro Shitsuji= Black Butler. eaither ways its the same deal. ^.^

Now I’ll go and patiently wait for my subscription to come in the mail, and fight the urge to y it in the newstand ^.^

15. Not to spread hate or anything – I’m really excited you picked up kuroshitsuji – but people who aren’t familiar with anime/manga or even Japanese might be a little shocked by the name. “Black Butler” isn’t very… sociable sounding in english. I realize it’s a direct translation, but some people may not understand that it’s related to a color not a race, and may be offended/turned off. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not quite sure what other name would work, perhaps “Dark Butler” or something, but yeah.

I suppose you can’t please everyone all of the time? =/

16. I got my copy today. I need to actually get a subscription. lol. silly me.

17. A great issue and a great year! Congratulations.
Oh, and happy birthday Abby and congratulations to Kirk :)

18. THANK YOU!!!
I love Kuroshitsuji and I’m very happy that I’ll be able to buy this manga in english (even though I’m from Poland, but I get used to buying mangas via english imports :3). I don’t mind title “Black Butler”, but I prefer “Kuroshitsuji” just out of habit.
I love you <3

19. The MaxRide insert poster is amazing. I nearly died when I saw Fang with the bow; it was absolutely adorable!

But to be honest, I’m scared for the next issue of YenPlus. You guys have been adding so many new good things, it seems inevitable that you’ll be removing more of my favourite series to publish more samplers. I’m not too excited to find out what you’ll be pulling next. XP

Also, is it true that you guys will be publishing a manhwa version of Twilight? And if so, is there any chance it will make it in to YenPlus?

20. I was in a store when they told me about this and I nearly passed out on their floor! I love you all so much, screw making my day, you guys have just made my Life! I can’t fully express the raging fangirl love that is happening right but to except squeal to my hearts content like a school girl!

21. woah~ Hurray!!!! Kuroshitsuji will be published in english!!! woah.. thanks a lot.. I have been waiting for this like forever.. I am a fan of Black Butler.. :D :D Ciel is so cute~~

22. First Nabari no Ou,then Pandora Hearts and now Kuroshitsuji…you guys have my favourite manga. <3
I’m curious to see what you’ll license next ^.^

23. Colour page?!? Cool!

24. I love you yen plus
thank you so much for publishing Kuroshitsuji

i kind of agree with Kuro that the title change
but hey its now going to be published in english <3

and i kind of got use to the name changes done by English translators like how Detective Conan was changed to Case Closed and not to mention most of the names of the main characters were changed *pissed* but hey its not like i can change it, so now when i read it ,in a split second i change the name to the original version so i don’t get pissed haha so as long as i dont take the title to heart I’m in love <3

Kuroshitsuji is the best i love it form the bottom of my heart that’s why i thank you again yen plus thank you for taking on Kuroshitsuji

25. *Massive fangirl squee*

EEEEKKKK!!!!! Black Butler!!!! (I prefer the English title since I have difficulty pronouncing Kuroshitsuji ^^; ) YAAY!!!!

Yay, Max Ride’s back on the cover with an INSERT POSTER? And someone says Fang has a bow on??? (Assuming the bow is for his ponytail.)

Must. Get. It. NOW. <3

26. I don’t know why people are upset that “Kuroshitsuji” has been titled “Black Butler” because I personally think its great. I usually have difficulties pronoucing crazy Japanese names/titles.

27. [...] that didn’t take long.  Less than a week after hinting at a new license, Yen Plus came out and the cat was out of the bag.  The new license is Black Butler, another Square Enix title.  [...]

28. I am really happy that Yen+ published a sample chapter of a light novel last issue. But seriously, I along with many others would truly appreciate it if Yen+ would add a light novel or two to be serialized in the magazine. I mean, that would just make this magazine for me and others, the best manga magazine to have ever been published state side. ^_^

Like….maybe you could publish a chapter each month from Kieli vol. 2? That would be awesome, or some new series.

29. KYAAH~ KUROSHITSUJI!! SEBASTIAN-SAMAAA~! :D Ive been wanting to see this liscenced ever since I read the first scanlated chapter so many months ago~ I greatly approve!

*now I can send in pretty Sebastian fanarts KUFUFUFU*

And, about disliking the new title, its not that bad ^^;; Its the literal translation, after all.. >w< I shall always refer to it as ‘Kuroshitsuji’ in my mind, though <3

(I am worried about whatll be dropped from the magazine soon, though D: I know its inevitable.. I just hope it isnt Sumomomo or Pig Bride ^^)

30. “Luminously-Challenged Domestic Servant”
*Practically dies laughing and gets lots of strange looks form the other people in the room*

Anyway, is there any possibility that you could put a poll in the magazine or on the website so that the readers could pick which titles to keep permanently and which to just have samples? Or maybe you guys could just tell us which ones you plan to keep? But either way could we have a popularity poll?

I love both the covers this time around (I always do but the giant “?” had me worried) Nudge and Gazzy look super cute!

I am suffering from Night School withdrawal so please please please someone invent a time machine so I can go get September’s issue. Oooooooh, and then when I’m done reading it I will sell advance copies on eBay and make a million dollars so I can go buy more manga!!!! *insert evil laugh of your choice*

31. hi there! Realy love the, magazine. Though I have a small problem, how come the june july issues of Yen plus hasn’t shown up here in Canada?

32. Oh my…

I MISSED SO MUCH STUFF FROM YOU GUYS
and when I decided to check on you…

YOU’VE GOT THIS!!! D8

Awww…it tempts me to spend some money *o*

33. @Sarah It’s not a poll, per se, but a lot of our decisions on what to keep in the magazine and what to pull out are based on the feedback forms we receive from fans like you. So if you want your voice to be heard, send it in! The editorial staff looks at every bit of mail we get, and sending the form in or posting a comment here is the best way to tell us what you want!

34. this is so amazizng! i lov Black butler :D

sebastian is awsome!!!!!!!!

35. Lottie-chan Says:

Where do we send questions about subscribtions?

(By the way I still haven’t recieved this issue…Which is weird because I usually get it as soon as it’s announced on the site.)

36. O= this just made my day. I was hoping Kuroshitsuji would come to North America and it has! now.. if only i could find Yen Plus… <.<

37. i’m am so HAPPY that you guys are bring Kuroshtisuji out thank you so much ^_^

38. @Lottie-chan We did announce this month’s issue a little early since we’ll be handing them out at Comic Con, but if you have questions about your subscription, refer to the FAQs to your right.

39. Lottie-chan Says:

Thank you!

40. @abby Is Yen+ CONSIDERING following the route that some manga magazine’s in Japan have, and serialize a light novel series or two along with the managa? I would really love that, it would make Yen+ perfect for me. :)

Cause for me, light novels are the one thing lacking from this magazine that I think are really needed.

41. I love Yen + Magazine, but I haven’t got my issue this month, are they being shipped out really late? Or is just my area? I looked at the FAQ, but that didn’t really help me.
Well congrats on a full year and I hope that I’ll see more Nabari in the future!

42. @Matt Perhaps you saw the three-issue preview of the Kieli novels starting with the July issue? Running a full novel series in the magazine is certainly something we’re keeping in mind for the future, but we have no definite plans at present…

@KCT If you call the phone number in the FAQ section, they will be able to assist you with questions specific to your subscription.

43. @abby You just made my day. I love you guys! lol XD ^_^

Light Novels ftw! haha

44. I’m really excited about the direction Yen+ is going in. Rather than focusing on main stream, already pretty popular in the US series, you’re looking more at stuff that could become popular with the right exposure. In other serializations in the US, I have usually already heard of at least 90% of the series, and have tried them out. Yen+ is pleasant surprise after pleasant surprise. Thank you for the awesome issues so far. I’m looking forward to more.

PS: Since you said you pay attention to what users say in these comments, I’ll throw in my request for a light novel taking a regular spot! It would really complete the magazine for me.

45. zomg! >.< I was having the crappiest day until i came here. I had noticed someone mentioned it elsewhere and I see that pic in so many places that I didn’t pay much attention until I read that news post. I think I died a little just trying to hold back the squeals of joy (I’m in library).
I love this magazine so much. So well worth the subscription price.

46. Chiisuteru Says:

UWAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
KUROSHITSUJI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
CEIL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SEBASTIAN!!!!!!!!!!!!

YenPress I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!
I cant wait for the manga volume to come out, I think I will buy 3 !!!!!!!!!

DOMO ARIGATO!
You’ve brought joy to this girl’s eyes.

47. @Leafy Seconded light novel request has been noted! Thanks!

48. OH JEEZ!!!
You guys have NO idea how excited I was to see Sebby on the back cover of Yen this month! I love kuroshitsuji!! I was bouncing around the whole entire day yesterday – and I still am smiling like an idiot as I type this!
You guys ROCK – keep up the good work!

49. While we’re at it, I will also say that a permenant light novel spot would be lovely.

And also, you’re not allowed to take these series out of the magazine: Pig Bride, Soul eater, Maximum Ride, Night School, and Pandora Hearts.

If you do, I’ll most likely be depressed for awhile. Thanks!

50. I agree with Kuro. I wish that the title had been kept as “Kuroshitsuji” and not “Black Butler”. Oh, well. I’m just glad it’ll be out in North America.

51. Only a week of July is left and I still haven’t received this issue or Yen Press.
Earlier this week I received a letter telling me my subscription was about to expire (which is something I have been expecting) but was a little confused. Wouldn’t it make more sense for your readers to send your letters informing your subscribers that their Yen Press is about to be canceled WITH the current magazine? That way no one would need to worry about if they won’t recieve this month’s issue.
I would have waited until the month was over but I was a bit scared to think this months issue wouldn’t come, and whether I should try buying it at a bookstore, or wait.
If there is any advice or input to put my nerves at ease, I will gratily appreciate it.
Thank you for your help in advance.

(This would be quite ironic if the months issue turned up in my mail tomorrow. One can hope.)

52. I knew you would publish this! THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOUUUU

53. Uh, not to rain on your parade, but “Black Buttler” may make a few take a double-take and question the title. I’m African-American and love the series, but I do know of a few hyper-sensitive individuals who would take this out of hand.

I know Japan doesn’t have the diversity or “Western way of thinking” we do in terms of ethnicity, so GanGan/Aniplex/whomever’s in charge of the property probably thought it would be best to translate the term. After all, Kuroshitsuji is a mouthful to say.

Just putting this out there. I’m ecstatic that the series is in Yen Plus and pumped to see a volume soon.

54. Yea! I’m not alone in my desire. :)

By the way, abby, other users in comments for past issues have made similar requests for light novel serialization. I think you should keep that in mind too. ^_^

55. I still haven’t got my issue yetttt. I’m really worried because if I don’t get it soon, I may have to buy it from Barnes and Noble and they’re all sold outtt. DDDDDD:

56. I think your subscription mailing problems from prior months have not been totally smoothed out yet. It’s Monday, July 27, and I still haven’t received my August issue. (Location: Virginia east coast.) I will be calling your subsciption hotline to report its lack of delivery. But I think you need to work some more on where in the mail system your issues are disappearing to and find a way to ensure that your subscribers receive their issues.

57. OH.

MY.

*faints*

Kuroshitsuji in English~!

I am buying the volume the first day it comes out.

You do not understand how amazing this is to me.

Side note: I prefer “Kuroshitsuji” to “Black Butler”. True, it’s easier to translate the title, but “Kuroshitsuji” sounds…better. More elegant. And it intrigues people more. They’ll wonder what it means and pick up the book, whereas with ‘Black Butler” they might make assumptions about the contents.

(considers making little book jacket to hide English title)

58. Hey, ditto on not receiving this issue yet, though I’m subscribed. I used to get them really early in the mail; now the bookstores get it first. What’s going on with your mailing?

59. I think that when it is released in ‘volume’ format, the cover title should be kept as “Kuroshitsuji.”

It’s much more alluring, and like the comment above mine, “Black Butler” may just not seem interesting to many people.

Just my opinion! But really, I’m overjoyed that it’s finally being published in English!

60. OMG YES! but i wish they’d call it kuroshitsuji instead of black butler. it sounds more intense when they call it kuroshitsuji, but i’m happy none the less :)

61. I’m also a subscriber who didn’t receive his issue. It seems every month I get my issue later and later and this time, not at all. I also received the subscription renewal letter a couple of weeks ago. It bothered me it said in big, bold red letters “THIRD NOTICE” when I didn’t receive any notice before. I have to say, this is by far the worst subscription service I’ve had to date.

62. I’m in the same boat as Andrew above. I also received a subscription renewal letter a couple of weeks ago as “Third Notice” when I’ve never even received a first and second notice before.

I’ve already replied to the notice and confirmed my renewal as “Bill me later” but I don’t understand how this could delay my August issue, especially since my subscription doesn’t end until like October 2009. I should still be continuing to receive my issues normally until then, right? It’s already July 30 and still no August issue. I’m starting to fear that I’m going to have to go to my local bookstore to buy a copy before they come out with the September issue = (

63. “I think that when it is released in ‘volume’ format, the cover title should be kept as “Kuroshitsuji.””

Yeah, I’m sure Yen Press will spring for that idea.

“Hi. I recently came across this comic in a magazine which I thought was really awesome, so I’d like to see if I can buy the volumes. It’s called Black Butler.”

“Hmm, let me check… No, I don’t see any Black Butler, just one called Kur… Kurosh… uh… shi- Uh, no, sorry, we don’t have it.”

“Ah, drat, just like all the other bookstores in town. Oh well. Thanks.”

Yen Press translated the title of Black Butler. Just like they did with pretty much every other title in their library which didn’t already have an English name. And yet, the sun will rise tomorrow.

64. @EVERYONE WITH SUBSCRIPTION/RENEWAL NOTICE ISSUES!

Unfortunately, since we do not directly handle the delivery of subscriptions, your best bet is always to call 1-800-876-7598 and ask for information regarding your specific account. I have notified the powers that be about these issues, and hopefully we’ll kick them back in line ASAP. Very very sorry!

65. Thanks Abby for your help with these continual mailing issues. Although calling customer service is an option, the most they will do is extend your subscription by one issue. This is only a temporary solution and does not make up for not receiving an issue as well as continuing to have these mail problems. The stores seem to have no problem recieving their issues, it just seems its the issues that get sent out directly to customers.

I also do not believe they will be able to send out a replacement copy after a certain time period has passed as issues seem to go out of stock after awhile. Who is sending out the issues and is there a way to get a different company to send them out?

I have never had as many problems receiving my Shonen Jump issues as much as Yen Plus. Granted Yen Plus is still in its first year but signs are not good for your anniversary if mailing issues are going to continue into the future. It could be a mail issue but I think it must be a the source, where they are mailed out and whoever mails them out. It could be the postal service at fault here, but I seem to get everything else besides Yen Plus without a problem, such as Shonen Jump.

I hope these mailing issues will be solved because one is left wondering when it will happen again since it has aleady happened several times. I hope you can find something out and hopefully a solution can be found!

Thanks again for your help and Happy Birthday on the first anniversary!

66. I forgot to add in the last post that I also have not received the August 2009 issue. I called customer service and there were only able to extend the subscription by one issue and were not able to send out a replacement as the August issue is currently out of stock.

67. Lottie-chan Says:

Just got this in the mail yesterday and I’ve gotta say, I’m loving the new series! Only one complaint to make about this issue and that is the lack of amatuer contest. -Sigh- Every month my hopes are dashed.

68. I’m eagerly looking forward to getting my copy of the August Issue. Is there some sort of delay for books heading to Texas? It seems like forever since I got the July issue back in June.

69. I agree, just extending your subscription because you have a missed issue, rather than getting a replacement is kinda annoying. If I don’t receive my August issue by the end of this week, then I’m just going to go out and buy it myself where ever I can still find it in stock.

I changed my mind. I’m NOT renewing my subscription to your magazine anymore. I’ll still continue to buy it as it comes out in stores, but it’s not even worth “saving” some money when you receive your issues inconsistently in the mail *shrugs*

70. I just received my issue today. I hope y’all are able to straighten out your distribution issues, and that y’all continue to put out such a great magazine. ^_^

71. I have to say right now Yen Press, I am very unsatisfied right now. Maybe even more so than a few weeks ago when I express my concerns in your comments.

Just a few days ago (when my August issue of Yen Press had yet to arrive in my mail), my mother was generous enough to order it through your Back Issues site here: http://www.animecornerstore.com/yenplb.html
(and while she was there, went ahead to order another issue I had missed)
But guess what decides to show up in my mailbox today?
The August issue of Yen Press.
Normally I would’ve been very elated, but I’m not. Especially when my mother went to all the trouble to order it and waste her money on an issue that should have been in my mailbox weeks ago.

This has been the second time that your company has made an error with subscriptions and shipping. Calling someone about our issues does very little, and doesn’t neccesarily solve the problem. I know it’s been only a year since your magazine has debuted and it must be hard to handle everything at once with a magazine company. But your magazine is the only magazine I have ever had issues with.
All I’m trying to say is to please get it together, and soon. Too many mistakes could cost you readers and subscribers.

72. Yen Plus is a great magazine but many issues arriving late are usually blamed on the postal service. Yet, why is it that Shonen Jump does not get affected if the mail service is to blame here. If the mail service affects Yen Plus then it should also affect Shonen Jump which has arrived on time this past year. No other mail or magazines that I receive have been affected like Yen Plus has these last few months.

Logic dictates that if there are mail problems, it would also affect receiving other mail along with Yen Plus as well. It just frustrates me to see Yen Plus in stores weeks earlier than when we should receive it in the mail.

73. Hello! I have a question about the magazine.

I live in Canada, but for some reason we stopped getting Yen+ up here. And I know you haven’t went out of business, so I wondered why this was because I really like this magazine and I was especially excited for Pandora Hearts adn Kuroshitsuji. However since we stopped getting it up here, I can’t read them.

Do you have any idea why we can’t get them?

74. That is quite troubling to hear from subscribers of Yen Plus. I myself do not subscribe, as I prefer buying a hard copy, but I do hope you guys can sort this out. Seeing how it’s been one year, and you’ve amassed quite a fanbase, I’m sure the staff are working on this right now.

75. wow!Black butler is really good,I even watched the all of the first season of it and now my eyes hurt =.=

76. Kasi Poison Says:

Okay, This is a comment on Soul Eater. I read the manga online before i read it in Yen Plus +. And I just know theres gonna be real confusion and debates later on in the series….on Crona’s gender. When Crona first came out in the manga Soul and Maka refer to Crona as a boy. but later on in the series they start calling Crona a girl.

So I was uberly confused.Soul Eater fans have been agrueing about Crona’s gender for years and I know when the time comes so well Yen Plus fans who just started reading it. So My opinion….I think Crona is a girl…I’ve never seen a guy act so shy and timid.

77. I’m getting worried… my issue still hasn’t arrived yet =/

78. Okay, now I’m peeved. As soon as I said I was worried about not recieving my issue, I got the spetember issue instead. I called the subscription service, and they said they didn’t know why I missed the august issue, and just extended my subscription by one month. This sucks, because now I have to run out to the store to hope and pray they still have the issue.

I really love yen plus, I do, but all these subscription issues are annoying and will most definitley cost you customers. =/

79. 9GjrBa kfmzljwyoeua, flhgvvmzztet, [link=http://dbqcxcassyvu.com/]dbqcxcassyvu[/link], http://nlmysrmdorwx.com/

80. I have to agree, I was unable to receive my August issue as well, and instead was given the September. I couldn’t find the August out on store shelves as well, is there a way to fix this problem? I have called and gotten my subscription extended as well, but I did want to have all the issues . . .

81. Ed Goldberg Says:

I got both the August and September issues in the mail with in a week of each other. Not that I’m complaining or anything. I’m just curious as to why. Does that mean we’ll have to wait 2 months for the next one?

82. I just subscribed to your magazine and I’m a little concerned now. You got your mailing issues fixed right? ^_^

83. –Excellent news! Hot of the presses!–
I just received today the very late August 2009 issue of Yen Plus. Even late I am just glad that it eventually came. I am hoping that the September issue will arrive soon as well as it seems several people have received it already. It is an impressive sign that many are receiving the September 2009 issue early, and I am hoping that this means future issues will be early as well!

84. I have a question for any of the fine folks at Yen+, in regards to my subscription (forgive me if this isn’t the appropriate place to pose such a quiry; I’ll be sure to make a phone call to the listed number ASAP but atm this is my only accessible venue).

Basically, I got a sub-renewl notice in the mail which warned me my sub would expire soon, so I re-upped for the 6 month special.
Yesterday I just received my Sept. issue of Yen+ at my house, which, while being wonderful in itself, greatly worries me.
Does this mean that my sub running out caused this to happen? Or did something else prevent me from getting the Aug issue?

If anyone can help me, I’d be so, so, SO grateful!! I started following Yen+ from the 1st issue and it’d break my heart to miss an issue from my collection. :(

85. It’s a copy right off of Cain Earl!

86. I second Nikki’s question from earlier this month. I live in Canada and wanted to check out the new manga that you guys are featuring in the magazine but cannot find it in any of the bookstores; the last issue that the bookstores are carrying is from April 2009. :( Do you guys have any idea what’s going on?

87. Hi Tania–

I’m so happy to hear you’re doing such thorough research for Kuroshitsuji/Black Butler!! The series definitely deserves the extra TLC~

Just one bit of “research” I thought I’d save you from (and anyway, it’s kind of an obscure reference)–I believe at the beginning of chapter 1, there’s a tagline that reads “Kuroku, Tadashiku, Utsukushiku”–it’s an homage to the Takarazuka All-Female Revue, whose official motto is “Kiyoku, Tadashiku, Utsukushiku.” It’s a reference fellow Takarazuka fans would get (a lot of shoujo mangaka are really into Takarazuka these days, aren’t they? It shows up more and more~ ^__^), and while there aren’t so many here in the West, we’d still get an extra kick out of it if you noted this allusion. :)

Also, it’s just an incredibly funny play on the original quote–instead of doing things “Purely, Properly, and Beautifully” like a Takarasienne, Sebastian does it “BLACKLY, Properly and Beautifully”–LOL~~~~~~

Good luck on the adaptation–I’m definitely looking forward to it!!

88. Congrats!! I will be awaiting the tankouban (released in January next year, yay!)of Kuroshitsuji and just like all the other fans i hope that the adaptation changes will be kept to a minimum (a smaller piccie of Sebastioa just wouldn’t do!) and that hopefully, even if you can’t serialize the light novel in the mag, then at least release it separately, ‘cos i’ve seen the Japanese Kuro novel and it is intensely gorgeous *drools*

Still, no matter what happens, you’ll definitely have this fan lining up to own Kuroshitsuji!! Thank you Yen Press!!!X3

89. Sweet where can i buy a copy besides ebay

90. "Dreamland Constructions" think of it.
